Some of you may remember that in December, after thoughtful reflection and conversations with many who encouraged me to step forward, I announced that I would not be entering the race to become California’s next Insurance Commissioner.
That decision came down to one thing: this role demands a leader fully prepared to dedicate the time, focus, and energy required to navigate one of the most complex challenges facing our state and to ensure a stable, fair, and accessible insurance market for all Californians.
It also requires confronting what I described at the time as a growing communication crisis, where too many Californians feel confused, frustrated, or left in the dark about decisions that directly impact their homes, businesses, and financial security.
At that time, I also said I would support the right candidate when the moment came.
Today, on the final day of Women’s History Month, I am proud to share that I have found that person.
I believe Jane Kim is exactly who we need.
Jane brings the experience, integrity, and unwavering commitment to consumer protection that this moment demands, especially as families face rising premiums, market instability, and climate-driven risk.
Just as important, she understands the need for clarity, transparency, and proactive communication so Californians are not only protected, but informed.
There is no doubt in my mind that Jane understands this role is about protection, accountability, and maintaining public confidence in a system that impacts every household and small business in California.
I am proud to stand with Jane Kim for California Insurance Commissioner, and I look forward to working alongside her to ensure California’s insurance market works for the people it is meant to serve.
I encourage you to visit her campaign site, get to know her, and see for yourself why she has earned my support at www.JaneKim.org.”
